Somehow We Keep Marchin' On.

Quick post. I'm sleepy, but this is on my mind and I know if I don't get it out now, I will just keep putting it off and it will never get done. I have been doing really well with my daily Bible reading... I finished Romans and now I am in the process of reading Proverbs. As I have been reading each chapter, I write my favorite verses from each in my journal.

I just loved this one too much not to share...
Proverbs 4: 23- 27  "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Keep your mouth free from perversity; keep corrupt talk far from your lips. Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways. Do not turn to the right or the left; keep your foot from evil."

I feel like these verses are something I need to remind myself of daily. I get caught up in the things around me so easily that these words tend to slip from my mind or seem to become challenging to live out. It is so easy to get caught up in the gossip at work or the distractions at school that I let those things get in the way of what is important. I need to be more conscious and start living by these words and not let them be pushed onto the back burner. I need to not turn to the right or the left; keep my foot from evil and keep marchin' on.

good night xo

Where We Don't Know, Though We Can't See...

Just Walk On Down This Road With Me.

Oh boy, I am not good at this blog thing! Its been months since I have written, or even thought about writing at all. Time to play a little catch up I suppose...
Life has thrown quite a few obstacles at me since I last wrote. I feel like I have learned to try and handle every one of them with grace.

"If life were stable, I'd never need God's help. Since it's not, I reach out for Him regularly. I am thankful for the unknowns and that I don't have control, because it makes me run to God." -Francis Chan, Crazy Love

Life is definitely not stable and it is full of unknowns at the moment, but I am kind of loving the unknowns right now. Since I wrote last a lot has happened...  I moved to a new town, 3 1/2 hours away from home. I also transferred schools and switched majors, which I have been talking about doing for a while now.

Have you ever felt like you are pouring all of yourself into something and it is going unrecognized? Yep, its not fun. I get invested easily, and because of that one of the lessons I've had to learn in the past is to guard my heart... but I suppose I'm still not very good at it. Its hard hearing that even though you feel like you are pouring yourself into something sometimes it is still not enough.  Lately I have learned, no matter how hard you try to get to know someone's heart, if they don't want to share it with you then you will never truly know them. Not a fun lesson to learn, but definitely necessary.  So, moving from Rochester to Oneonta has been a big change and an enormous unknown in my life recently. "Culture shock" seems to be the best way to describe how I'm feeling. Going from living 5 minutes from everything to having to drive half an hour up a mountain to school is quite the change. Through this move I have had a lot more quiet time than I had at home in Rochester. Maybe God is trying to tell me something? I am going to take all this quiet time and start getting to know God better again.

In the past couple weeks a friend of mine has shown me how passionate he is through the way he loves and the way he lives. He has shown me how dedicated he is, and that he is truly seeking God. Talking to him motivates me. I have started reading through Romans and am planning on reading through Proverbs next. I am really excited to feel dedicated again!! There are so many unknowns right now, with school, my future, relationships, jobs... But even with all these unknowns and obstacles there are still some things I do know. I know I am willing to share my heart,  I know I have a lot of questions but my heart keeps pointing me in the same direction. I know I am happy while figuring everything out. Simply, I am thankful my life isn't stable because it makes me turn to God and let's face it, if life were stable it wouldn't be very exciting.

Have a beautiful day. Let someone get to know your heart today.
