Gonna Put The World Away For A Minute...

Excursion Number 8 and 8.5
KAYAKING!
Leah and I decided to do some kayaking so she was awesome and found a great place to rent on the Irondequoit Bay. Such a workout!

 cruise control :)

Did you know it is illegal to pick these?!...

yea, neither did we! oops.

Then just a few days later Matt and I decided to go too! I thought my arms were going to fall off! Paddling into the wind for more than 6 miles, Oy!! but still a great day :)

so good lookin :)

Very sad to report this is my last summer excursion post for the year. I'm back in Oneonta for the semester and starting classes at SUNY Delhi again for the Fall tomorrow... if Hurricane Irene calms down a bit and they re-open the roads soon! Eeek! Anyways, this summer was fantastic!! crossed a few things off the bucket list, did lots of traveling, spent time with some pretty amazing friends and family, and faced two of my fears, my fear of escalators (here) and my fear of lobsters (here)!! Hopefully my semester will be as productive as my summer was :)

Get Lost and Get Right With My Soul.

A Few Excursions...
All Rolled into One Post

Girlie escape to Skaneateles for the day!!
Mom, Claire and I decided to take a mini road trip for the day to stunning Skaneateles. My mom decided she wanted an outing with just us girls before we head back to school because before we know it the semester will start flying by and at the end of it Claire moves to Alaska!! Eeeek!

The day consisted of a 2ish hour drive, delicious lunch and drinks right on the water, adorable little gift shops, chocolate shops... Mmmmm, and ice cream, and awesome mom/daughter time :) PERFECTION.

The next day was camping in Dansville Take Two!
Such a fun night!! lots of laughing, asshole card playing/ass hat wearing, LOTS of southern accent speaking, hammocking, and tent popping innuendos.

I really am lucky to have such great friends, and wonderful people in my life !!

We had a slight tent malfunction, some how the entire tent was leaning when we woke up. The floor of the tent ended up being the side of the tent ????
Lesson of the trip: Absinthe is DISGUSTING! yikkk

The next morning Matt and I met up with my family and The Rex's (Claire's hubby and fam) for the day at their breathtaking cabin in Cuba, NY. I am so grateful Claire has such an incredible family. The Rex's are so welcoming and a ton of fun! Caution: Claire, Wylie, Eric and I are an unstoppable CatchPhrase team :)

Man I could get used to a view like that! God's creation is pretty unbelievable huh?

Cause I’ve Been Waiting For You For So Long...

Welcome Home!!
Yayy! Welcome Home Eric! My hottie sister and her hottie husband have finally been reunited!! Claire and Eric got married at the end of December and then not even a week later Eric moved to Alaska, where he was stationed before he left to serve in Iraq. He is home for 2 weeks on his r&r and my sister is the happiest girl in the world! I could never imagine being away from the person I love for 7 months, you two are incredible.

Thank you Eric for what you do and thank you for being so wonderful to my sister. I could not ask for a better man to take care of her and love her. I am so happy you two finally get some time together! I love you both <3

I'm Looking For an Exit Sign, Gotta Get Out Of Here and Get It All Off My Mind.

Excursion #7
Escape to Stony Brook with Shauna and Andria!! Spending time with those two is a guaranteed BLASTY BLAST!! Andria lives in Dalton, NY ...where the heck is that you might ask... well it is in the middle of nowhere New York. Ever heard the song Dirt Road Anthem? I'm pretty sure that song was written about the trek to Andria's house.
We took a little detour to Wegs, did some shopping, drank some coffee and helped a stranger then headed to the falls for some serious climbing. We are some pretty awesome people and decided to climb up one of the waterfalls... paths are for sissies :)

These are two faces I hope to know for the rest of my life.

Shauna and Andria are those friends that you can go months without seeing and nothing changes, the instant we see each other we are just as comfortable, open, goofy and non judgmental with one another as we have always been and I am so thankful for that! Its so refreshing!
